I found this site a while back and was just curious how many people actually “suffer” from this this?
And in case your wondering I did tie my shoes wrong, now I tie them like this.

Ive been using that site for years. Always had cool looking patterns on my shoes.
Now I just have them tied regularly, and correctly, and they just sit underneath my lacing when I put my shoes on, so no problems with them getting caught.
I seem to have managed okay for the last 37 years.
Do you really need complex instructions?
I like that site!
+1 I’m amazed that you were tying your shoes the day you were born though
edit: i’m gona give it a go and see if it works
If you want complex lacing patterns. =p
Thank you
Just given there sugested way and it sucked, I can’t get the tension I want. - the funky lacing patterns look good though
I use the lacing instructions from that site for my hockey skates. They look really pretty, and hold nice and strong too!
So did I, until I started unicycling and reading RSU.
Here’s one of my first posts on the forum (from 2002). Coincidentally, I was 37 at the time.
I concur. I’m not so concerned which knot I use, but I’m sure to at least double knot when riding uni.
tying to the side is good too.
I tie my shoes correctly but I also tie them to the side with the top lace going through the top and second from top grommets on the inside and laces coming out the top and second from top grommets on the outside. This puts the knot on the outside of my foot for extra insurance that they cant get caught in a petal spindle.
hmmm… i dont think that i care much:p . seems like a lot of time that i could be uniing rather than tying my shoes. i just leave them tied and slip them on and off. (my shoes are bmx shoes aka skate style and are meant to be used like this)
didn’t look at the links, but I do mine the super-fast way.
No laces for me
Velco shoes does it for me.
No UPD here.
Collar bone still healing…
All laces will be double-knotted or otherwise locked down in the future!
I use “Cycling” lacing on my wicked cool Airwalk $30 Zellers shoes.
On my Caterpillar boots, I have a custom lacing that tightens in certain spots better than others, because of the way they fit. Worked out perfectly too.
I am going to school with a double halloween.
What about if you use Velcro straps???
Same
All of my shoes (except one pair of dress) no longer have laces. They’re all either slip-ons, sandals, or velcro.
I blame unicycling.
