Your secrets are safe with me and all of my friends.

I have done the talent test. Although I have been informed that I have very little, Klaas was kind enough to assure me that, despite my lack of ability, I can still enjoy myself. Phew! That was a close one.

Once again Klaas, you’ve done a great job. I’ve sent you an email.

Andrew

 I’ve sent my data to you Klaas

I can quote the results of my test if anyone questions my talent :stuck_out_tongue:

Thanks for the kind words Andrew. I’ve received about ten replies by now, but I don’t seem to have yours. Maybe the electrons have lost their way on the long trip from Down Under?

Klaas Bil

Klaas,

I sent a second email to the same address…

Got it now. For reasons of not attracting spam I’d prefer if the
e-mail address wouldn’t get mentioned in the text body.

Sorry Klaas. I’ll remember that in the future. I just keep forgetting how sneaky those spam sending people are. How’s your spam situation at the moment? I only get about 3-4 per week…I guess I’ve been lucky.

Andrew

Edit - So is this email address (andrew_carter.mnz8o@timelimit.unicyclist.com) used for spam-avoiding reasons?

Yup. That’s the style of address that Gilby puts in the reply to field when the messages get posted to the newsgroup. Unfortunately (or fortunately) that address does not actually work and the newsgroup people cannot simply reply to your post to send you a private reply via email. I’m sure the original intent was to use the reply-to address as a temporary address that would forward mail to your real unicyclist.com account for a couple of weeks and then the account would die. But that part of it does not appear to have ever been implemented.

Fortunately for Klaas I don’t believe that the email address hunting bots actually search the body of usenet posts for addresses. The seem to just search the headers. But I still obfuscate my email address in my sig just in case.
