DM two-wheeler

Some of you may know that I ordered a
two-wheel stack from Dave Mariner after
seeing the really nice frame he used
to make a three-wheel stack. It’s finally
arrived (in two parcels on two days).

All the other two-wheelers I’ve seen
have a fork extension fitted to a regular
unicycle in place of a bearing cup. This makes
for a potential weak spot at the upper bearings,
which Roger and Rocket have both mentioned.

Obviously the forks must come apart to
gain access to the wheels, but Dave has
achieved this without sacrificing strength.

In addition, the lower wheel can be adjusted
in a slot for optimal contact pressure between
the tyres.

I guess it’s probably heavier than other frames.

So anyway, take a look at DM’s handiwork. I
think it’s the mutt’s unmentionables:

I hasten to add that I can’t ride it (yet).

Thinks… mustn’t go to a restaurant with this bloke… I’d starve before the soup arrives!

Have fun on it.

I didn’t say that! It has been months but, to be fair, only a few
weeks longer than Dave said when I ordered.

Tried out the beast in a local tennis court last night. Lost count
of the number of times I was left hanging onto the chainlink
fence by my fingertips. Owowowow! Mr. Wiggins made a
slightly better impression on the passersby.

How do you think I feel? My appetite is noticably larger than
yours.

Aah! So that was the problem at last year’s BMW (Sunday lunch)!
We waited soooo long for the food to arrive - and yes, Alan
was with us…

Harrumph! You got fed pretty quickly yesterday at the same
pub, and you were at my table. Mind you, Andy did have to
order twice…
