Distributing t-shirts locally...

I have an idea for a line of t-shirts, and I’d like to make a few and try to sell them in local sporting wear/gear shops to see if they’d sell. Does anyone have any advice or experience in this area? The major sporting goods retailer in this area is Olympia, and I’m wondering if there would be a legal hassle for me to contact a store owner or two to try and sell the shirts in the local Olympia stores. I wouldn’t think there would be, but I want to know what i might be up against and to have a plan before diving in.

Re: Distributing t-shirts locally…

Good Evening,
Contact the owners of the store(s). See if they will take them on
consignment. If they will then sit down with them and hash out a price that
remains reasonable for both of you (remember you both have to make something
off of it 1.) one is your design and outlay for making them and 2.) is his
store space and selling capability) Hope this helps some.
