Distance on a 24"?

I have a 24" Torker DX. The Ottawa Tour Nortel is comming up. The shortest distance is a 12km bike/rollerblade. Think that 12km is doable on a 24" muni in a few hours? Anyone in Ottawa want to lend me a 29er  ? I guess I would have to talk to the organisers to ask if it was alright, but they will probably say yes. The terrain will mostly be road, probably with a little bit of gravel.

What do you think?

That is definitely doable, go for it.

I know I could easily to 12 km on my 24" in a few hours, almost certainly in less than two. You shouldn’t have any problems as far as I can see.

your talking a hr really, as i can do that easy less than 2 on a 20"

its doable with great hydration i did 20 miles on that same kind of uni and i was sore

but yes go for it its doable

now dont quote me but i think ntappin has a 29er he may lend you if hes not gonna do the race.

Sounds easily doable to me. Have fun!

Actualy I was hoping to do the race on my 29er, if I could find some people to do it with, and if I can afford it.

hey dorfman, did u go to moab? if so did u go on the longest ride? if thats u in ur avater then it looks like someone i saw at moab. He(maybe u) had a torker dx also

I did 8k last fall nonstop, didn’t take that long… go for it!

That sort of distance is easy on a 24. Might be a little harder if you have great big long MUni cranks and a big fat squidgy Muni tyre, but it should be easily doable in an hour or slightly more.

nope i was hoping 2 but i couldnt…i wonder who this guy is…i always knew i was the evil twin

go for it, train though for sure

Got some short cranks for it and you will be fine. I got a pair of 90mm on my 24" Nimbus. For me that don´t have a coker, it feels really fast.

Bah, I run a 24" muni with 165mm cranks, and it’s not that bad. Of course, Quebec rodes make it like muni anyways…
