Yeah rim brakes.

Disk for sure but they are pricy

Knoxxuni that is exactly my predicament. I know disc has more efficiency and stoping power but they are more expensive. I was wondering if it would be better to buy the more expensive beter disc brakes or the less expensive hydraulic rim brakes?

Rim brakes work fine, they are plenty powerful, their only weaknesses are wet weather performance and the fiddle factor, both of which are not big enough issues to warrant switching from rim brakes to disc brakes.
