Sounds intriguing… How do you stop? You can’t just dig the edge in like on a snowboard. I wouldn’t feel safe doing some of the stuff in those videos without brakes, but I’m a big pussy

I thought you were talking about sandboarding at first, which is a similar, but no wheels. I think they use a standard snowboard for that. . . gotta find some dunes B )
I did some sand dune surfing a long time ago, not much fun and walking up and down got old fast. Dirtsurfer looks more like mountain boarding.
Can’t watcht the videos its asking for WMP 11 and I am 12. This is happening on quite a few sites. Hold on it works in IE 8.

impressive mountain boarding, planning on buying an mbs mountain board mainly for kiting ,but also interested in dirt surfer

The beginning of that last video of Oliver G shows great arm strength. He wasn’t hooked in to his harness but he was able to hold the bar with one hand during upward acceleration. Excellent gripping power.
That kite boarding looks pretty sweet, mostly because it appears that the effects of gravity are slowed down due to the the pull of the kite.
Now all I need is a beach…and a mountain board.
And a kite.
I thought you had a mountain board? You will be wanting more than one kite though. I much prefer boarding with a kite than downhill. Although you do need wind. you can just ride for hours with no treking back up a slope, and hitting jumps and getting lofty air is so so satisfying.
