Digital Camera - Shot in the Dark

My mother was given a digital camera as a gift by some friends from Japan. Unfortunately they gave her one purchased in Japan with instructions in Japanese and menu displays completely in Japanese.

It is a Casio QV-2100.

I have figured out more or less how to take a picture, but would like some help being able to transfer the photos to my computer and how to delete them once this is done.

I think I still have to get a card and download the USB or some freakin’ thing.

If anyone can give me the English translations for the various menus, that would be great.

By the way, you would not only be doing me a favor, but making Harper, he of the “pics, please” requests, very happy as well.

Thanks,

PS Learning Japanese is just not an option at the moment.

The 2100 isn’t listed in their manual, but here are the closest matches I found. Hope it helps

Re: Digital Camera - Shot in the Dark

Hey, what made you think that ANY of us (ok, most of us) would wittily suggest you learn Japanese?

I’m back…

Unfortunately, I couldn’t find instructions, but I did find a specs page on your camera. Have you thought of asking Sendhair for some translation help?

I’d expect there to be the option of having English menus and so on. You’d just have to spend a while looking for it. I know on my camera the menus came in English as a standard setting but you can also put them in other languages. On mine, the option is in the ‘Setup’ section of the camera…good luck finding it on yours!

I don’t know how yours is set out but in one of the sub-menu you may find that the button you click on to change languages to English is actually marked in English…if that makes any sense.

Good luck,
Andrew

I spent a month using my then-new mobile phone in Norsk because someone changed it and hid the instructions so I couldn’t change it back. I thought that was what different language options were for?

I saw the title of this thread and I was expecting to see a really cool pic with some weird lighting. I don’t like being disappointed. I fully expect to see some wicked pics, some of which better be in the dark, when you figure that camera out.
