Digested mailing list

One obvious fact about digested mailing lists is since a digest is made only
once every 24 hours, it can’t be very immediate. Whereas when subscribed to a
normal mailing list, one can get a response to an article or question within
minutes of sending it.

A newsgroup sometimes can lag a few hours or days depending on USENET news
routes and when and how often sites transmit news between each other. However,
a newsgroup is far more visible and suitable for distributing articles around
the globe.
