dented

My pride is slightly dented, as is the skin on elbow, leg and hand, I have
mildly shreded shorts and on the whole got away lightly from my first Coker face
plant on the road. I think I hit some loose gravel but as I was not
concentrating I’m not too sure. OOOPs. Fortunatly no cars coming and not many
people around to laugh. It had to happen one day.

Are any uniers going to the WOMAD festival this weekend ? I’ll be at the
lighting desk in Kit Candles cabaret room every evening, do come and say hello
if your on site.

I did something similar yesterday evening in the parking lot where I work (minus
the Coker, unfortunately…). Thought I’d take a quick spin around on the
unicycle before driving the car home. Took a quick glance around and nobody was
there. Rode about 20 yards to a light post, turned around, did a figure 8, and
was going to ride around the car and leave when quite suddenly I guess my foot
slipped off one of the pedals on the power side of the stroke and down I went.
Really don’t even know what happened, except for the unexpected contact with the
pavement. Rolled out of it and got up only to see some other employee
approaching, headed toward his car. I put the uni back in the car and got outta
there as quickly as possible…

I’m really still a beginning rider, so unexpected dismounts aren’t all that
unusual (becomming less frequent though), but actually falling on the ground has
been very rare.
