Delta Rendezvous IV revisited

We had another small unicycle get together this weekend in Memphis but we had a enormously huge, fun time! Special thanks to Lewis and Chris for diving up from Jackson, MS (3½ hours) and Tim for driving the 2½ hours from Missouri. One of the greatest things about the Rendezvous is that everybody learns form others. It is amazing to me how we have folks riding with a wide range of level and experiece but some how everybody brings a special talent or skill to share with all. After each of the Rendezvous my riding level is bumped up several notches.

Lewis, thanks for suggesting the Vietnamese food following Stanky Creek. It was a perfect way to beginto recover from a very hard ride.

It was especially great to see Chris out who has been off the uni for some time now. He continues to give us riding style clinics. Welcome home Christopher!

There are a few photos posted on the Memphis Unicycle Club web site (“Photos”) from the MUni on Saturday and the trials There was a lot of video shot on Sunday so stay tuned as this is being ready to post. Lewis will make a post here to alert all when he makes his video available on his site.

I encourage anybody in the region to try to make the next Rendezvous. It will be such a blast - again! Jackson is due to host - right Lewis and Christopher? Where are those famous unicyclists from Alabama and New Orleans?

Thanks again for the great time for those of you who were there!

Tommy

Tommy,

Yeah, I had a great time. We should probably give more notice in the future. Scheduling them during national and international events can be a problem, but no biggie.

I have already uploaded about 40 mb of pics and videos. Many of them are just “fun” videos, almost entirely based around Chris’ hilarious narration style. However, some of them ( BillsMagicTurtle, TedHopsBenches, TommyRidesBackwards ) actually have some skills content.

By the way, if you check out Bill’s Magic Turtle (I know it has some other name), that is Bill’s FIRST free mount. He learned the magic turtle BEFORE learning any of the more traditional freemounts. Chris and Tommy taught him his second freemount, the standard forward freemount, that very day.

Oh, the link to the web site:

Just click on the “Delta Rendezvous IV Quick Shots” link.

There is some serious clowning around, boys being boys and all. Nothing too saucy.

Here is a cool pic of Rhysling trying to do a Patton imitation:

After about a week or so, the vids will be gone, except a few of the non-hanging-out ones, which I will integrate with the others.

And thanks to Tommy for coordinating everything.

Later,

Lewis
