Delivery via Unicycle

I have long maintained that during the summer of 1978, I worked for the Associated Press (AP) delivering photographs to the New York Times and Daily News during the overnight shift and sometimes did so by unicycle. But I never had photographic proof. Until, that is, going through a box of pictures my mother had long stored under her bed.

The AP was located at 50 Rockefeller Center around 50th St and 6th Ave. The Times was off on 43rd near Times Square and the Daily News was on 42nd a bit east around Lexington or Park Ave. The Times would permit me to walk my unicycle through the newsrooms, but the Daily News made me leave it with security downstairs.

It was a particularly fun summer.

Very cool photos. I wish I had some photos of when I rode as a kid.
