I just got the new kh street saddle had some questions about it. When I ride sif, and I grab the bottom, the seat cover is moving around and I lose my grip. I don’t want to tighten it too far so that it rips. Does anybody know how to solve this?
Tighten it to where is it just doesn’t rip. But that is probably where you have it so far. Mine is just as tight as I can get it pretty much and it doesn’t move at all on me. But I have a question for you also. When you hold the seat for SIF do you find it hard to hold it in the back and have to hold it more in the middle by the seat post?
i took the cover off mine a few days ago te see what was under the cover.
putting it back on i couldnt do the same thing so i made it as tight as i possible could and tied it around the seatpost.
The foam they use on the fusion street is a lot different than on the torker lx seat. But yeah when I put my cover back on it wasn’t as tights as when I got it but it is still pretty tight.
I do have the same problem the grip in the back is so horrible it pushes your hand towards the seat post. I have a phobia of getting my fingers somehow caught in something under the seat so I’m still getting used to it. It also isn’t as narrow in the back as I thought it was going to be. I find it easier to get into sif on my dx seat because it’s narrower. Hope that answered your question.
Pictures please?
hmm
what if you staple the string to the seat where you need the cover to not move?
I’m pretty sure it says (on krisholm.com and udc) that the seat covers are kevlar re-enforced. I don’t think you’ll tighten them so much that they’ll rip.
ya I’m just alittle cautious of new stuff I get. Ill get pics up in a minute
well heres under my saddle:
so that tiny itty bitty black thing is the gel?
Looks like it; just enough gel to soften the impact on your coccyx.
My modified LX seat is (appears to be) softer than that. It’s thin, but I cut the foam down and then cut + inserted the gel from an old bike seat - it’s f’ing 1337.
I ordered the orange kh street saddle from bedford and it is incredible. Not only is it comfortable to ride on, but the underside of it is awesome to hold for sif, unlike the torker/mayata style seat.
where do you grip it? I think the grip towards the back sucks.
On the side at around where the seat post connects, and further back sometimes. I think the grip is good in the back as well.
The miyata is the best for sif in my opinion. Just get some vinyl tubing and tape it to the lip under the cover. Those seats have a big lip that are really nice to hold on to. The kh is more like a little bump under there.
Yeah that is true. I might switch over to my old lx base. Does the lx and dx have the same size seat post?
That seat looks rather thin. I was expecting it to be thiner and like come on there’s hardly any gel on there
With the vinyl tubing I bet it would be more comfortable, but from my own experiences I’d say that the lx base can be rather brutal on your hands.
other than the fact that the lx seat completely broke in half, that’s one of the reasons that I switched over to a new saddle. I had blisters from the seat.
