I have some video (with audio) of David Stone on the Today show this morning. The quality isn’t the greatest, but it’s not awful. I recorded the show, then shot it off my television with my Sony Mavica. Here’s the first one…a quick promo leading up to the story:
I haven’t been able to download all 4 yet, but, David, from the couple of clips I been able to download (dial-up service for you), very nice job.
Question: I assumed “Unatics” rhymed with “lunatics”, i.e. U-na-tics. My wife also pronounced it that way on the first attempt, but later thought that the host of the show who pronounced it, u-NAT-tics, might have thought it rhymed with “fanatics”.
So which is it?
Thanks and great publicity for unicycling.

Way to go David. According to Warhol you’ve still got fourteen minutes left. You used the first one well. And you were better dressed than anyone on the show.
There is a problem with #4 & #5. The files on my computer play fine, but the uploaded files don’t. I tried uploading them a second time with no improvement. I’ll keep working on them.

That is a little scary. Here is a funny story to add to that. Her kid goes
to a hoity toity school (Dalton, where I used to teach). Apparent KC was
late to a show that the kid was in, and KC went a bit ballistic, as tho
they should have waited for her to arrive. I am unsure of any other
details. I have to say, she seemed perfectly nice to everyone today.

Funny you should mention Warhol. I kept joking with people that I had 14
minutes and 15 seconds left. When I watched the tape later, I revised my
esitmate to 14:10. Don’t deny me those precious seconds, Harper!

Maybe it’s repaired by now, but I could view them no trouble.
Since they hadn’t said my name to that point, I didn’t count the 8.5
seconds of promo. By the way, in the business, we call that promo a
‘tease’ or ‘bump,’ thank you very much.

I went for a muni ride on Monday afternoon. It’s a somewhat nasty, rocky, rooty, messy, muddy trail. A biker on the trail mentioned that she had seen a unicyclist on the Today show. In her eyes I was a better unicyclist than David cause I was riding the trail and David was just doing tricks. I did tell her that David is a much better unicyclist than I am, but I don’t think she was convinced.
