this is a warning, especially for the females on here, be craful its really easy for somone to put something in your drink,
Yesterday night my mom was out at a club with 2 frends, they were drinking and having fun and her 2 frends decide to go out and smoke, my mom who doesnt smoke decided to stay inside, appaerntly some one must of thot she was by herself and slipped the “date rape” drug into her drink, i think it GHB is its real name, lkuckily she wasnt by herself and when her 2 frends came back in they could tell she was differnt so they took her home, and had to carry her up the staris to her bed and she literalyy slept for over 12 hours straight, when she woke up she couldnt walk or nothing, i felt bad cus she was the only one in the house cus i was at work and my sister was gone. I came home and she told me wat happened and how she hasnt dranken or gone the bathroom or eaten since like earlier that night. I had to help her do all that stuff, and she doesnt even remeber wat happened that night,
sad and scary that someone is willing to do that kinda hing to someone
I’m really sorry to hear that. Some people truly are monsters. I’m glad her friends were there to take her home, that could have ended much worse! Make sure she gets some fluids and food in her. It may be wise to contact a doctor.
That’s some bad news indeed. It’s just lucky that she had people with her though.
It’s something of a myth that GHB is used for drug rape it has a very strong taste so is easily noticable in a drink, rohypnol is far more commonly used.
This happened to someone close to me at the Edinburgh festival a couple of years ago but unfortunately she was alone and things came to a pretty horrible conclusion. The police still haven’t managed to find the people responsible despite knowing the address she was taken to after being drugged.
It’s on the rise amongst blokes too so don’t think you’re safe just because you don’t have shirt potatoes. Don’t leave drinks unattended ever and if you have to leave your drink to go outside to smoke either leave it with the door staff or ask the bar staff to keep it behind the bar for you until you get back.
I hope she will file a police report and make sure the club/bar knows this happened in their place so they can be on the lookout. If it didn’t work with your mom, whoever did this will try it again.
A couple months ago there were articles about women who were targetting out-of-town businessmen at up-scale bars. They would drug their drinks then get themselves invited back to the man’s hotel room, the man would wake up the next morning to find their wallets, watches, laptops, etc. missing.
a friend of a close friend spent all night getting free drinks from the barman in a greek bar, and woke up the next morning on the beach with a sore behind. I wouldn’t broadcast this publically, but he seems to think it’s hilarious and makes no attempt to conceal what happened.

i had a spiking incident a while ago, cannot remember any of the night although it changed my life for ever. always watch your drink.
Although this drink spiking epidemic has ruined our favourite joke at the pub. Ordering highballers of water with fruit in them and sending it to a table of ladies, courtesy of the gents at the bar. Then sit back and wait untill they discover it is just water. Its an old one, but still hilarious.
One major problem, in the UK at least, is that door/security staff don’t know what to look for and often mistake drugged people as being really drunk and throw them out.
This almost happened at a club I was at in Manchester. I saw a girl who looked really out of it and a bloke who looked a bit out of place was holding her up. I went and grabbed the person I mentioned earlier who’d been on the receiving end of being spiked and asked her opinion on the state of the girl. She was pretty concerned so I went over to ask if she was OK but the girl couldn’t string a sentence together and the bloke was not happy at all that I was sticking my nose in. I walked off a short distance but kept my eye on them a few minutes longer then went to find a bouncer to get them to deal with this fella but as soon as the guy saw me talking to security he scarpered. I then took the bouncer over to the girl to get him to help her and try and find one of her friends but he immediately tried to throw her out for being too drunk. It took a good five minutes of me explaining the situation before he stopped trying to chuck her out. Had he done there’s a good chance that fella would’ve found her again and followed through on his plans for her.
I reckon photo’s of known drug rapers ought to be circulated around pubs and clubs and there ought to be mandatory training on drug rape for all door staff before they gain their license.
I also had an idea for a type of straw which would have a built in testing kit in it to show up any nefarious substances in a drink, as I don’t know of anyone who’d take little strips of testing paper out with them and use them regularly. However, if there were a straw which changed colour in the presence of nasties I think people’d be more likely to use them.
