Yes!
Long time lurker, first time poster signing in.
I’d love to come to a weekend like this; camping would be ideal. Are trains nearby the meeting point or would i have to strap my muni to my back and ride the motorbike?

Hi Rich, welcome to the forum!
Probably the best way to get here is to go to Plymouth on the train then get a bus from there to Princetown. Or if there are a few people in the same situation you could share a big taxi from Plymouth (a taxi costs about £15).

It would have to be a big taxi! That said though, if anyone intends to get a train to guz PM me and we could sort something out.
Put me down for a definite, even though I’m happy to sleep in a hedge if the campsite is full :slight_smile:

Probably the easiest way would be to smile nicely at someone driving down to give you a lift. It sounds like there are a few people coming from outside the south-west so there’s bound to be someone with space who can meet you at a convenient station or suchlike.

I might be able to come, it depends on what exams and coursework deadlines I have (like almost everyone else).
It’s a long way but sounds like it would be worth it!

Because despite his ability to ride a unicycle, Mikefule is actually a small field. He is clearly volunteering to save everyone money on campsites.

Camping

Right, thought I had better get some campsite bookings in. So far I reckon we’ve got:

I’m going to book for 9 on Friday and Saturday and 5 for Sunday night for now.
Any corrections or more takers for camping please let me know as soon as you can. It’s a busy weekend (bank holiday) so I don’t want to look a muppet by being too far out with the bookings :slight_smile:
The bookings need to be per person, by the way, not per tent.

Probably make it down for the Saturday and or Sunday, I should be in full training mode for SSMM by then, so the timing is good. I’ll camp / doss in the car.

B + B wimps! :stuck_out_tongue: and would love to do a night ride and only have 20" so perhaps not great on the long distance rides but ill give em a go!

Thanks for the updates people.
Liz: What happened to that 26" you were going to buy to replace the 29?
Most of the route should be ridable on a 20" (preferably with a fat tyre) but there’s no substitute for SPEED :wink:
