Jack Sim’s wish is granted. Our tv news showed that the Dutch crown prince, Willem Alexander, was a guest of honour in New Delhi. If Willem Alexander is not a celebrety, then his wife princess Maxima (who accompanied him) is. Willem Alexander specialises in water management and in New Delhi called upon the world to provide good sanitary equipment (and clean water) for every world citizen. He expressed his astonishment that 2 billion (that’s American billion, 10 to the power 9) people don’t have a toilet or sewerage.

Just to avoid any confusion: I am in no way ridiculing (sp?) his appeal. A toilet for everyone, I say!

Eighth class physics, my nose! Increasing the pressure in the toilet pushes stinky air INTO the nostrils. That is, if the nostril pressure would not change. In reality, the pressure in ones nostrils quickly equilibrates with the pressure in the whole toilet, save some fluctuating pressure difference that is associated with breathing.

Mr Thakar had better wire his fan the other way around. It makes sense to whisk the stink away, out of that pipe on the top of the unit!

(I wonder what his food equipment is like.)
