Does anyone have any specific cycle computers to recommend for use with
a coker? I tried putting the Specialized mount I use on my bicycle on
the coker, but the magnet could not be properly mounted on the huge
coker spokse.
I’ve heard of some companies making a cycle computer which communicated to
a wrist watch computer via radio waves. Does anyone have something like
this, and know if it can easliy be mounted on a coker?
It sounds like you have the kind with a circle magnet that has a metal piece around it and is held onto the spoke by putting the spoke in a slot with a screw tightening onto the spoke. If this is the one, then you can take a file and widen that slot a little bit until it fits. I did that for one of mine and it works.
Or, you can go to a local bike shop and ask them if they have a different magnet that you could have.
I had the same problem with mine. Instead of using the slot and screw for
the magnet, I just used a tie-wrap to attach it to the spoke - has stayed
on for the last two years and works great. Any computer that goes up to
300mm will work. Mine is a $30 cheapo - I think a Cateye.
