I have an almost completly stock Qu-Ax trials that I’ve been riding hard for over two years. I’ve just replaced stuff like the pedals and the seat, etc.
I’ve also got a Qu-Ax Light ISIS 24x3 muni, also stock but I bet not very many people on here has one of those…
well its not tomorrow, and i dont have a pic yet, but my qu-ax looks sweet. it has a stripped and clear-coated frame, stock (ish) saddle, i cut the foam down to about KH street foam height, Nimbus ISIS trials wheelset, KH moment 137 mm cranks, and Kona pedals(just from my MTB). ill get a pics soon:)
-Qu-Ax Trials Frame(Stripped and Clear Coated)
-KH moment Cranks (137 mm)
-Nimbus ISIS Trials Wheelset (when it was still $86:D )
-Kona Pedals W/ some pins missing
-Custom home-cut seat foam)
-Stock Seat post (stripped & clearcoat)
-Stock Sestpost clamp(I made the engraving deeper)
-Maxxis CC
-And a sweet valve cap( I Gorilla Glued a toy Helmet over a Valve Cap and painted it Gold)
Thats like saying the new Nimbus hubs and DX hubs are similar… 10 spline, black, and pretty much unbreakable.
The Qu-ax cranks have tons of Q. Having seen both qu-ax and profile (not side by side though) I would say they have about the same amount of Q, and profile has a lot.
They are definitely NOT the same shape and design. DX are round, while qu-ax are rectangle shape. The pinch bolt end of the DX cranks are triangle shaped, and cover the whole end of the crank, while qu-ax pinch bolt ends are a little thing sticking off the end. DX are also hollow, while qu-ax are solid.
well, yeah kinda, the frame, seat, seat post, and clamp are stock. (theres not much to a uni to keep it a single brand:p
yeah i did, i just put small dents in the frame where the spokes hit. the dents were only about 2 mm and i got nice clearence now
^^im kinda forgetful, so it may take a few days, but ill try to get soem pics of the frame/spoke clearence
I’ll post pics when I finish (read: start) my custom uni the new Qu-ax has ISIS splined cranks so not very similar to Torker. I agree that the old ones looked a damn lot alike though.
How do those cranks hold up? They look so fragile.. loving the flame sticker but for the rest pretty standard, are there any flaming hot qu-ax unis out there?
most people take a stock uni and modify it. not buy a bunch of random parts and throw them together.
sounds sick though. how are the tensiles?
and got pics?
