Crossing streets - As the Sidewalk Surfer, I’ll start by holding my left arm in
the air to show I’m going to cross the street ahead of me. I look over my left
shoulder to see where any cars are at in case I need to stop or charge faster
across. Invariably, everyone sees me because I create such a sight (just ask
John Drummond or Roger Davies). I usually ride the streets of intown Atlanta at
night because it’s usually dark when I get out of work, so I have a flashing red
tailight going. I keep extra batteries with me to keep them hot. I chew gum and
rock out with headphones while tearing up the concrete. I’ve never had a
problem, but it’s kinda like how a pretty in a tight black mini might feel as
everyone stares and whistles…the problems are with the auto drivers running
into the back of other drivers!!! I hear their brakes even over the music. Jay
