I’m looking forward to tomorrow’s game between South Africa ranked #1 and Australia #2, which will be interesting because Australia has just lost their #1 position to South Africa.
And Australia has won the previous 2 world cup.
And South Africa’s got a repuatation for choking under pressure.

Big news is that Pakistan’s coach Bob Woolmer was found in his hotel room dead.
Police said he was strangled.
Bob was writing a book about Pakistani match fixing and someone probably tried to stop him.

It is a sad, sad loss for cricket. Bob was the South African cricket coach for many years. I hope they find out exactly what happend to him, if only to put his family at rest.

as my dad is from grenada (an island in the west indies), he bought a 40" at christmas, just so he could view the world cup!!

They even play cricket in Cyprus.

Cyprus National team nearly made it into the second division(I think) when they went to Belgium this Summer.

My friend is on the team, he’s the second fastest pace-bowler in Cyprus.

My prediction is that the loser of the Aus/SA match wins the cup…
So SA will win. This will only happen if Aus-SA meet in the semis coz there is no way Aus will lose another best of 3 finals. The other semis could be NZ and SL…If Aus make it to the finals, I pity the other team :slight_smile:

Only the big matches/tournaments, but the rest of the family are pretty diehard supporters.

Its always bothered me how supporting a sporting team can become so personal. At the univrsity i go to, some peoples moods on monday often reflect the performance of “their” teams over the weekend. in the extreme cases, people riot and kill :astonished:
