crank length

Sorry to bring up a tired old story, I’ve been hunting around
unicyclesource and a lot of local bike shops, and it seems the only 152mm
L and R cranks I can get are cheap steel, extra-bendable ones. However, I
note that some unicyclesource 24" wheels come with 170 mm cranks. Does
anybody have experience using these relatively long cranks with a 24"
wheel and a large tyre? I notice a huge difference when using the shorter
cranks (~135mm) from my 20" wheel on the 24", and don’t want to waste a
lot of money buying strong but too long cranks for my 24" setup.

Thanks for any advice, nic

Greetings

Regarding cranks I have some good news from Japan. Yuichiro Kato, the
webmaster for the JUA and MYS (who markets unicycles) , is on the verge of
completing a website that will allow ordering uicycles and unicyle parts
form Japan online.

I am helping a bit with this effort so I know that cranks will also be
available. It has always been very hard to get Japanese cranks so this
should be welcome news. There will also be high quality custom forks
available.

Stay tuned.
