I recently cracked a vertebrae while going down stairs. I was riding and i leaned too far back and whap! I was tumbling down… Now i can’t unicycle!
Wow…that really sucks.
Is it fixable?
Ouch!
Sorry to hear that.
Don’t worry though, the teenager manual I have says that 10-15 year olds are indestructable.
Take care.
Way to go on the cool injury!
…it is gonna fix, right?
ya I’m still walking but i can’t bend over or do anything that involves excersize. I should be a little bit better in about a month. I tried to unicycle and now my back kills… off to get some aspirin!
That, my friends, is a real man.
Don’t forget, friends, this is the Internet!
Gordito could be a dog, an alien, or a hyper-intelligent houseplant.
Do not let yourselves be fooled for a minute…
Before I even believe in Gordito’s injury I have to see a picture of his cracked vertebra. I have to see a picture of Gordito holding his cracked vertebra, standing in front of his computer, which is showing the unicyclist.com home page. Then, maybe then, I’ll start to believe there’s a Gordito.
There is no Gordito. Wikipedia confirms it.
my cat’s name is gordito
turns out it wasn’t as serious as that! thank god. the vertebrae isn’t cracked just got a heck of a blow. I should be getting better soonish hopefully.
Good news. You’re too young to get back problems like an old geezer.
It’s odd, but I don’t feel that way about the mini fracture I have healing at the moment. I can’t unicycle for a while, but am not really missing it.
I will unicycle again when better, and will enjoy it, but it is not at all devastating that I cannot ride for these few weeks.
Should I even be in these forums?
Nao … who just spent half a minute trying to delete a tiny tiny insect , that was posing as a comma in the last sentence.
It’s not necessarily the fact that he can’t unicycle, but the fact that he had (or so I thought) a cracked vertebrae…to me, that would suck a whole lot more than not being able to unicycle, because there would be a lot more things you couldn’t do. Where are you fractured/how did you do it?
Alex…trying not to burst out laughing at your comma mishaps
Appreciated. hairline crack, lower leg, tripped over a tree route when walking.
And go on, burst out laughing…I did. But not until after I briefly thought I had a broken key on the keyboard. Oh the embarassment: someone will probably sig it. I should have kept it quiet
Nao
As I was going back to copy the quote, I couldn’t help but notice that you added an extra space before one of the commas. Time for the Irony thread to be resurrected. Heehee
At 13 years old a month or two (or more) spent not unicycling due to injury is a more significant portion of your life compared to an adult.
Lets say that the first two years of life are wasted as far as personal experiences that you can remember. So at 13 y.o. you’ve had 11 years of experiences and opportunities to learn new skills. And the later years are more valuable in that regard than the earlier years. So a 2 month recovery for a 13 y.o. is (2/(11*12))*100 = 1.5% of their life. And that is without weighting the later years more heavily than the earlier years.
At least you didn’t try fixing it with Wite-Out on the monitor.
