covid-19 containment thread

And somehow the UK has struggled.

Is struggling.

Memory lapse:… I am probably affected by COVID
so I went to be tested… and the lady in charge told me: “I can’t get something out of your right nostril; you have a broken nose!”
Wait a minute: can’t remember when and how I broke my nose

Covid or no, my work load is still the same. In 2016 I moved back from Denmark to The Netherlands, but could keep my job. So whether I worked from the office here or from home, my direct colleagues are in DK. I just do all meetings through virtual calls. Of course when in the Dutch office I have some interaction with those colleagues, but I don’t work with them directly and working from home is the exact same for me. I work from 7.30 to 16:00 (often until later). The office is about 7km away and during summer I occasionally went by unicycle, though the cycle paths are quite crowded and riding isn’t so nice.
Nowadays I only ride in the weekends and as I live near a big foresty area, there are some places where there aren’t that many people, which I already preferred before COVID. The less interaction with ignorant peeps the better and I don’t have to feel stupid when I UPD.

Here we don’t have to wear a mouth mask while outside, only in some bigger cities. Mouth masks are very annoying in the supermarket and my breathing makes looking through my glasses near impossible. I would have that too if wearing masks while unicycling is mandatory I reckon.

Another thing that has been limiting my unicycling is that my right knee has been playing up. Ever since I learned to ride UW, my knee has never been the same. Last weekend did 15-16km XC with a long uphill climb. As I refuse to stop halfway I push myself to reach the top first, but then I was forced to rest because my knee was playing up. I’ve been reading on the internet about peeps getting new knees and wondering if I could still ride with them. Unicycling is the only sport that I really like and the thought of not being able to do that, is really depressing.

well without mask I still have difficulty breathing since the little COVID beasts ate through my lungs :mask: but things are getting better through unicycling training

I hear the COVID vaccine lets you mutate to grow gills instead. No need for lungs anymore

Really? Any quotations for that? Otherwise I won’t believe it. These vaccination chips are only for the new microsoft contactless paying system (and of course for data mining!)

The vaccine with tracking chip is great for auto-uploads to Strava.

Manufacturers of sport watches with GPS and hearth rate monitoring will be out of business soon
