Could you recommend a good unicycle that I can buy in New Zealand?

I’ve got a 36er Oracle. It’s a nice frame, indeed. But given the budget restrictions a new Oracle uni is clearly out of reach. I doubt that building a custom uni based on an Oracle frame is a viable option, either, unless the thread opener can get a wheel for free.

The Oracle frames are quite affordable in my opinion at around $165.00 US. I have a pretty nice collection of unicycles at this point and they all started off as used unicycles that I bought on this forum, eBay and a couple at a local bike shops. Used is definitely the way to go. Now keep in mind I put in a lot of elbow grease into mine including wheel building. I sourced a lot a lot of used parts including frames, saddles and saddle covers , Hubs, cranks, disc break components and touring bars, saving me lots of money. You have to be patient and always be on the look out

165 USD is almost 300 NZD. Add shipment (UDC Australia has barely any frames only for sale, so it‘s shipment from abroad) and there‘s no way to complete the uni within budget.
Ergo it has to be a used one if it shall be in this league. Oracle, Kris Holm, Qu-Ax, Mad 4 One… there are several options. The difficult part usually is to find them

  • at all - in my experience most used unis are cheap ones of questionable quality.
  • at a reasonable price.
  • within a reasonable time frame.
  • the combination of all of the above.

I‘m not saying it‘s impossible, and I‘d personally prefer a high quality used uni to a lower quality new one, but it will most probably be a game of patience.
Anyway, good luck to Unknown_0, may they find a good uni at a reasonable price and have lots of fun riding it.
