Cost Of unicycles

Could anyone help me? How much does a unicycle cost?? Brand new or second
hand will do.

The price can vary widely.

For a new unicycle anything less than $100 is generally poor quality.

Good used unicycles can often be obtained for $25 (or even less) but they can be difficult to find.

A good source for used unicycles (and any other thing you may want) is eBay. At any given time you will likey see a few unicycles for sale there.

The best source for new unicycles must surely be http://www.unicycle.com.

Along with the other post that was sent in answer to your question, it
depends where you live.

In bike shops, selection is usually limited to between 0 and 1 brands,
which are usually not very good ones. Shop online if you can. If you live
in the US or UK, Unicycle.com is the way to go.

If you try eBay, buyer beware. Don’t believe anything you can’t see in a
photo. If the seller says it’s in good shape and the photo is too blurry
for you to tell, ask for a better photo. Most eBay sellers are very
honest, but not all…

True. Upper end mountain unis can be well over $1,000.

Not true. Torkers are excellent for beginners and run under $100 –
generally about $75-85. You can even get them on eBay.

Yes – VERY difficult. Spend the money on a Torker if that’s an option.
Torkers have certain advantages over Schwinns. The main disadvantage to
Torkers: the awful seat.

I think there are several good Taiwanese brands out there, some with multiple names. The Torker has a flat crown which is good for skill development. The seat may suck, as stated. I have a Zephyr (other names?) with a seat that is quite comfortable but it has a round crown. Both are available in 20" and 24" for under $100 online. I bought the Zephyr at a bike shop for $90.

Good luck. Have fun.

Cyclepro and jugglebug come to mind.

As you apear to be UK based , take a look at www.unicycle.uk.com for
new unicyles across a range of prices, 60ukp upwards IIRC. Second hand,
well you pays your money and takes your choice. But try to pay less
than it would cost you new! Some people have the idea that because they
paid 100 quid for the thing 5 years ago from a bike shop and have
hardly used it its still worth 90 ukp, even tho an equivelent uni today
costs around 70 ukp new.

If buying second hand take a look before you buy, make sure the wheel is
round, the cranks don’t wobble and the saddle height is adjustable. Any
other problems can probadly be sorted out if you don’t mind spending a bit
on up-grading a rubbish sadlle.
