OK.SO.
This is the thing.
Is it AGAINST the law to take a logo (e.g. the attached picture) and go to one of those t-shirt printers and stamp that logo on a T?
Would that be a copyright law or somthing really illegal like that?

Yes. It is illegal. Thye use that logo to make money, if you get it for free then they can charge you and take you to court. I wouldnt recomend doing this.
ouch
okay show’s over
Metallica’s cover of Turn the Page kicks ass
who would catch ya though? not like cops would know if its really an illegal t-shirt, or that they would know what KOXX is.
yea but you never know
lets see:
NOT making a t-shirt
vs.
making a illegal copyright that can give you a HUGE fine and send you to jail
i just like that logo.
stupid canada can’t even provide us with unicycle apparel
Well i wouldnt go as far as to say jail…but they could give you a hefty fine.
Or you could ask the koxx people nicely. Not that I would guarantee anything, but with small companies (not necessarily koxx, more like KH or syko or something) might let you print a shirt. I don’t know this, since I never asked, but at least it’s a possibility.
what if i changed it?
see the 4 wholes! is this allowed?
i think its still basically the same. They might see it as free advertising though
Alright well i sent them and e-mail like Tuego suggested so ill let you guys know what they’ve replied.
I think it is ok as long as you don’t plan to make money off it by selling it or something.

Morally perhaps, but legally it’s still a not okay
To just print the logo on a T-shirt, it’d be illegal. But to make a parody, then it might be covered under “fair use”. Though this would typically require you to change the letters. If you want to use the logo as is, you do need to contact the company that owns the logo/copyright.
Eh, laws dont matter anymore!
Yeah right, I guess we’ll see you in court then.
yea i did.
I’m still waiting for there reply.
Man…its been like a whole 17MINUTES ha
The question was whether it was legal. The answer is no.
The reality is, if you only make one, nothing’s going to happen. Worst case scenario: they send you a letter and ask you not to make any more. Unless you do stuff to make Koxx look bad, in which case they may go further.
I have put the Coca-Cola and M&M’s logos on T-shirts. I actually did a small production run of the Coke ones, where I took their old “Things go better with Coke” and changed Things to Unicycles. They were printed white on red, and most washed off on the first washing (1981). The M&M;s shirt was a single, hand-drawn effort with T-shirt paint.
Anyway, if you sell Koxx T-shirts, that’s a lot more annoying to the brand’s owners than just making one for yourself.
so really.
I’m allowed to print this shirt not just say bad things about it OR sell it?
Legally, no you are not allowed to make one, not even just one for yourself.
Will you get caught/punished? I doubt it
Whether you find it morally/ethically okay to bend the law, that’s entirely up to you.
