Hey, wouldn’t this be a sweet uni shirt?
Yep it would!
Is there an expression I don’t know, or do I simply not get it?
off the chain = good
I’ve not heard that one before… must be an American thing.
According to the web it’s used to mean “good” and also “out of control”…
Yeah. It’s not really used a whole lot anymore. But my dad said it the other day and I was like, “unicycles are off the chain…literally!” So I threw this up and was curious if anyone else thought it was cool.
What happens if you ride a Torker TX while wearing that shirt though???
I like the play on words!
For those not familiar with the phrase it is similar to these other ones you might have heard.
unicycles are sick
unicycles are crazy
unicycles are awesome
“off the chain” started with hip hop culture didn’t it?
Ah, which explains why I’ve never heard of it.
I still think “hip hop” refers to the ambulatory movement of people who recently had hip-replacement surgery.
Thanx for the explanations, gents.
My first reaction was that it was somehow connected to the “the workers have nothing to lose but their chains”.
And there’s a joke in there somewhere as well, but that’s a different story.
