I summited this one mountain today (4990 ft. tall). I was just looking around and I found these really cool mine shafts. I knew the mountain used to be mined but I thought all the shafts would have been collapsed. I found 1 collapsed one, that collapsed about 20 ft. in and one that I didn’t know how far it went. Keep in mind it wasn’t light in the shaft. The only way I could see where I was going was by looking at the pictures with the flash. It was kind of scary being in the shaft because it was dark and damp.
Mine shafts are generally unstable and unsafe. Not a good idea to be inside an old mine.
…and they never saw Austin Gillespie again.
I think the reflective bits in the last pic are gold…
Cool, theres a ton of mines near our summer-y cabin things. I’ve only seen a few but next summer I want to find some more.
I don’t play it safe, I live for danger.
Yeah man bring a hammer & chizzle wiht you next time!
It was a gold mine, but some of those sparkles are droplets of water . I could feel the dripping
