Converting .mp3 to .wav problems...

Last time I followed Sam’s directions for converting .mp3 files to .wav files for videos it worked perfectly. I seem to be doing the same thing this time but when I click ‘play’ it actually plays the song and doesn’t convert it. Is there anything I can check?

Thanks,
Andrew

Goto properties and make sure that in the output section it is set to ‘nullsoft dic writer’ and not anything else.
If it isnt set to the disk writer plugin you need to change it back to it, otherwise it will just play the files as songs.
Enjoy.

Speaking of mp3, has anyone heard Hot Hot heat’s new album?! Awesome!

It was definately on the right output thing. I just upgraded to Winamp 3. Do you have that? Could you tell me how to do it using that? It doesn’t work the same way.

What sort of music do Hot Hot Heat play?

Andrew

Aha! It wasn’t in .mp3. So I’m downloading an mp3 version of the song.

I found this to be about the best audio conversion tool. It’s very easy to use but if you have any questions just ask. Of course I don’t read this forum very often, but I’m sure someone could help.

Thanks Daniel, I’ll check it out when i’ve got some free time.

I use cdex for ripping but find winamp a faster conversion tool…

I use CDex for ripping several tracks from CDs, but for converting the occasional single track between formats I use DBPowerAmp (http://www.dbpoweramp.com). This adds a “Convert To…” option to the menu when you right click on a music file, so it’s really easy to use.
