Conservatives and Republicans censor terrorism warning, 2 killed so far by right wing

"Back in April, there was a huge fuss over an internal report by the Department of Homeland Security warning that current conditions resemble those in the early 1990s — a time marked by an upsurge of right-wing extremism that culminated in the Oklahoma City bombing.

Conservatives were outraged. The chairman of the Republican National Committee denounced the report as an attempt to “segment out conservatives in this country who have a different philosophy or view from this administration” and label them as terrorists.

But with the murder of Dr. George Tiller by an anti-abortion fanatic, closely followed by a shooting by a white supremacist at the United States Holocaust Memorial Museum, the analysis looks prescient.

There is, however, one important thing that the D.H.S. report didn’t say: Today, as in the early years of the Clinton administration but to an even greater extent, right-wing extremism is being systematically fed by the conservative media and political establishment."

Billy, does anyone suggest a remedy? I personally support a return to the Fairness Doctrine. However, in as much as I don’t believe that such a return would be the end of conservative radio as the dire predictions from the right suggest, nor do I view it as a complete solution. I well remember the weekly 3 minutes afforded to local malcontents on the local news programs in the '60s and '70s. I can still hear the drone with which they delivered their opposing views.

On the flip side, certainly censorship is not the answer.

Good idea! However, hitting the media would be one thing, but allowing DHS to do their job unencumbered by ideology would be more likely to protect us without unnecessary censorship.

Hopefully, we can post each incident of right-wing terrorism here, rather than start a new thread for each one.

I’m curious why this thread has such a high view to post ratio.

Billy

Billy, it is equivalent with other threads at the top of page one.

Doh! How could I have failed to see that?

Favorite office supplies (Let's find redeeming things about the office today thread) ( 1 2)

An uninteresting and relatively short read when compared with the Clinton Death List.

"The following is a partial list of deaths of persons connected to President Clinton during his tenure as Governor of Arkansas and/or while President of the United States and thereafter. Read the list and judge for yourself.

BARBARA OLSON - Author of “Hell to Pay” - a book critical of Hillary Clinton, killed in the Pentagon bombing."

Greg,

Are you the only neo-Con to suggest that the Clinton’s were behind the 9-11 bombings? Or has word of the Clinton’s role in the WTC/Pentagon bombings been heavily censored, and by whom?

Billy

1.) Greg is not a Neo-Con
2.) Greg does not suggest that the Clinton’s were behind the 9-11 bombings.
3.) Greg does not know if the Clintons’ (plural possessive) role in the WTC/Pentagon bombings has been heavily censored, and by whom, nor would he know IF the Clintons HAD a role in the WTC/Pentagon bombings.

Is your post in any way error-free? Are you the only gay anorexic who still supports Clinton’s (singular possessive) public school nutrition policies?

Which I am finding very entertaining on the right-wing radio shows. How they’re whining now! It’s great. But the left-wing shows, like Olberman, have lost a lot of their punch because the new administration is more in line with their views…

If anyone scrolls past the amazingly long list they might see this.

:astonished:

Greg,

I like you.

As your friend, i am obligated to tell you that your compulsion with precision is tiresome.

John,
