Right now, as I am writing this, Kris Holm is marrying Shannon MacLachlan. (Actually, they are just a few miles away - at UVic.)

Hope the union is long, prosperous and compatible. Can Shannon ride? Guess we will see Kris doing insane stunts on a Unicycle built for two sometime in the near future. Maybe no more labotimiser drops if Kris intends to have children.

i could not marry a woman who did not know the simple joy of riding a unicycle. there would be no communication in that marriage, a woman who did not understand unicycling could never understand me.

Congratulations Kris and Shannon. Although you may go through many trials and may occasionally UPD, may you constantly get back up again, find your focus and balance, and experience the pure joy of conquering seemingly impossible obstacles. To paraphrase Kris, “I don’t know why it’s worth trying to hop into a shepherd’s hut on the side of a mountain in Bhutan, but it is.” I hope you can have the same enthusiasm and determination when it comes to your marriage.

the idea of kris getting married reminds me of a comment someone used as a signature for a while
it was a comment overheard at one of the uni-meets where someone pointed out to a friend that ‘just because he (kris) did it doesn’t mean it’s possible’
