Heres my problem, my old computer did what this one is doing right now. When I try to open the volume control it says "there are no actuve mixer devices avaliable, To install “blah blah blah”. But on my other Windows after that happened it wouldnt start and was missing lots of files needed to boot up. What can I do to fix it/get rid of the virus I have.
Are you sure you have a virus? It’s not much use troubleshooting other symptoms till you get the virus situation figured out.
Look for the latest sound card drivers for your motherboard (if using built in sound) or your sound card. The sound card drivers will have the mixer device and get it installed properly.
I just scanned and we had a virus and 500ish infected files,
