COMPLETE BEGINNER

I have recently received a unicycle as a (very welcome) present. Can anyone
suggest a book which will help me on the way ?

Hi, Linda. Glad to hear you got your uni. I can’t really help with suggesting a
book. What I would suggest is that you try to find someone who knows how to
uni, and learn from them. That’s how I learned.

Try this website:

http://www.unicycling.org/

I believe there use to be a list there of (or on a link there to) unicycling
individuals and/or clubs, and you might be able to find someone local to

where you live.

Same here with the library story.

The book is old (early 60’s [I THINK!]) but it’s good solid information
and ideas.

I again THINK! it can be purchased from USA (find their address somewhere).

I do KNOW! it was published by Stackpole (or something VERY close to that
name) Books.

Stackpole publishes mainly Gun-Type books and they usually have copies of
out-of-print books.

Check with the local library, USA, and if all else fails check with a local Gun
Shop for an address for Stackpole Books.

Re: COMPLETE BEGINNER Books

I found a copy of this book at my local library. I already knew how to ride but
was curious about the book. I picked up some ideas I use regularly when teaching
new riders in my club. It offers very good advice and is worth the reading.
Should only take a few hours to read through.

To reply to me click on your REPLY option and remove the NO.SPAM. from my
address. This is supposed to help reduce spam since the “reply to” is where the
spammers get all there addresses from. We’ll give it a try.

The two good general purpose books are The Complete Book of Unicycling and
Unicycling from Beginner to Expert. The Complete book covers history, mechanics,
and clubs better, and Beginner to Expert covers learning new skills better.
