competitive cokering

Just back from another Trailquest competition. We had a great ride, on our
Cokers for the first time in a trailquest. We chose our route to make the most
of the cokers road mile eating abilities, doing more mileage but on easier
terrain than we would normally muni. This was Pauls proper Coker ride ( more
than a spin round the block) maybe a 3.5 hr off road competition was not the
ideal try out but he seemed to cope fine ( tho the last half hr hurt). Team
unicycle came in with 230 points in 3 hrs 15 min, a personal best for both of
us. Better still we beat team Culverhouse , our deadly rivals in the fun
catorgary  We even managed to beat one or two of the senior mens teams and a
vetern or two, all of whom use MTbs not unis.

The stats are points 230 Time 3.15 Miles 21.27 Max speed 15.4mph Ave speed
7.8mph Catorgary placing not known yet, but we beat the Culverhouses!

Sarah,

Wow this sounds fantastic. You really did well, does this give more hope for
Cokers on the Red Bull Challenge?

Well…It all depends on the terrain . We found the cokers sooo much harder
work up hill off road, and as they are not so manouverable some of the twisty
single track was out as well. At the Red Bull we should take the opotunity to
ride the course the day before and sus it out.

I have not yet heard from Red Bull about a uni specific race this year, if they
organise one and let me know I will of course post the info to the News Group. I
won’t be able to organise one my self this year, so I’m just going to wait for
them to surgest it. BUT if any one else want to contact them and ask about a uni
race, feel free. sarah
