Competition where you can vote for unicycling to be in the olympic games

The channel 7 Sunrise program has a great competition running for Australian viewers. You just need to sms what sport you would like to see in the next olympics along with your name and state to 19777077.Naturally I have entered and nominated unicycling as the sport I want to see in the next olympics.Entrants have the chance to win a trip to the bejjing olympics worth over $70000.00(aus)The sunrise people are listing the 5 most popular nominated sports on their program each day.Id love all the Australian unicyclists to enter and get unicycling in the top 5.Just remember that call costs apply so if your under 18 get your parents permission to enter.Oh, and if any of you win the big prize as a result of my thread please feel free to take me along.

Wow, that would be amazing. Wish I lived in Australia just to vote.

Did you specify what kind of unicycling you wanted, or just say ‘unicycling’?

Let’s hope it’s read out anyway!

When that kind of voting is used for polls or contests in America, it usually costs $.99 per message/vote. Of course they encourage you to vote as often as you want. The actual contest results are less important to the organizers of these things than the money generated from the process, which is also huge for the phone companies. Be advised!

BTW, that’s why American Idol should not need to have commercials.

Most people care more for the recognition of unicycling than money. Honestly, I don’t like it:p

yeah, I just said unicycling cause I think all types of unicycling are great and although I’m into muni myself they probably wouldnt have any idea what I was talking about.second thoughts I think I’ll reenter and put down muni just to see if it gets a reaction!

Thats all very true thats why you need to pick your competitions wisely.Oh and in Australia the maximum call cost charged is 55cents including gst.(read this in the terms and conditions but please verify your possible costs yourselves)

The competition closes 4.30pm today (25/04/08) so if you want to enter times running out.(i’m not working for telstra or anything in case your wondering…just thought this was a cool comp with a cool prize.

Ha,Ha give me BOTH!!!

this may be good for all of you unicyclist, but I wanted to win and had already entered unicycling, DAM YOU  :o :stuck_out_tongue:

Sounds promising. If true, it’s a limitation we could use over here. But how can a long-distance or international call stay under 55 cents?

In these text-messaging rip-offs, the 99 cents is not the cost of the call. That’s whatever your carrier normally charges for text. The 99 cents is in addition to that! :astonished:

i would vote if i had credit…
