When that kind of voting is used for polls or contests in America, it usually costs $.99 per message/vote. Of course they encourage you to vote as often as you want. The actual contest results are less important to the organizers of these things than the money generated from the process, which is also huge for the phone companies. Be advised!
BTW, that’s why American Idol should not need to have commercials.

In these text-messaging rip-offs, the 99 cents is not the cost of the call. That’s whatever your carrier normally charges for text. The 99 cents is in addition to that!
