My Compaq laptop’s screen has beed very dark lately and i think my cat did something when she sat on the keyboard. When I plug the laptop in, the screen gets dark and when I take it out again, it gets bright again. It seems like things are backwards and I can not figure out how to fix this. Please help me!! Thanks.
If nobody knows how to do this, can somebody tell me of a computer forum where the people there might be able to help me?

Cause we all know cats don’t like Macs. 
There is probably a key combination that changes the backlight setting and other display settings. I don’t know what it is. You can check the help and support files on the laptop.
Another option is to ask Compaq/HP support. They have a live chat support option that should get you a quick answer.
