Comp troubles...

I use Mozilla and whenever I try to access certain sites (can’t remember most but hotmail is one) I get a window that says my SSL is disabled. I tried a few online tutorials but either did them wrong or they don’t work. SSL means something like Site Secure Lock.

Also, I can’t view/download any movies in the new gallery unless they are in mov format. I also can’t view any from unicyclejester.com though I used to be able too. I think both problems went down about the same time but I can’t remember.

Any help is appreciated.

David

Maybe try viewing those pages in IE?

Go in to the options and put a check by all the protocols in the security section. Don’t know where it is in Mozilla, but in Firefox, it’s in the advanced section under the security tab.

Try reinstalling DirextX. The DirectX install will update and/or fix many of the Windows codecs and may get the videos working again for you.

When I say Mozilla, I mean Mozilla Firefox. I always thought they were the same thing.

Haha, I tried IE and the pages just don’t load. I read an online thing that said to do what Gilby said and the things were already checked. And I can’t get DirectX cause I can’t go to Microsoft.com, and although the SSL window doesn’t come up (another one does) I assume its the same thing.

Thanks anyway,
David

You shouldn’t have any problems getting to microsoft.com whether using IE or Firefox. Microsoft doesn’t block Firefox from the Download Center.

An alternative site for getting Microsoft updates is The Software Patch. You can get DirectX there. If you have Windows XP you might also try reinstalling Windows XP Service Pack 2.
