Comments from the peanut gallery while climbing a hill

I was 2/3 of the way up a 1 mile killer hill (to Mulholland Drive
in LA), with my heart rate somewhere north of 170bpm,
when this lady said something like “there must be easier
ways to get up a hill”. I was too breathless, and also too
close to UPD’ing, to answer. (I wasn’t about to give her
the pleasure of watching me fall off!)

I was in a similar situation today but, rather than the comment, the lady asked my permission and then took a picture of me from her van. Then her husband pulled over in a turnoff up the road and she got out and took another one.

Easier and boring…

George Peck’s view is, if the hill is too easy, then wheel-walk it.
