I don’t know if any of you guys do combat arms but I am seeking your help. I downloaded it just to see what all the talk was about and it took me about 3 minutes to load a map. I reinstalled it and it still takes about 3 minutes to load a map. I was wondering if there were any tricks of the trade here. If you can, please help me.
Yea, it probably all depends on your internet connection and hardware. I take around 30 seconds to load a CA map and my computer is pretty prehistoric. I’m not to techy though so I can’t help you beyond that. But apply for clan Unicycle if you keep playing and add me as a friend, zaw92 (is my username).
Any unicyclists that play Combat Arms should add me and join my clan: Unicycle
I agree. You don’t seem to know much about us at all!
Just as I don’t begin my post with “I am replying to your request”, you don’t need to tell us you’re asking us a question. It’s obvious.
What is this “it” to which you are referring? And what is “all this talk”? I haven’t heard anything about combat arms other than what I saw on the History Channel the other day…
Combat arms can mean anything from a broadsword and shield to a modern semiautomatic rifle. Can you at least narrow “it” down to a particular century or period of history?
And I am wondering if there is any way we can actually help you when we don’t even know what kind of “tricks” you’re looking for, or even what “trade” we’re talking about.
We can both sit and wonder, or one of us can ask a coherent question. I’d ask one, but I’m not looking for answers here.
We can help you. You need to help us help you. Without your support, our help is wasted effort.
I don’t know who Gene is, or what he did to deserve your thanks, but perhaps that should go in a PM, or email?
…or were you signing your post as if it were a letter? Still confused? We are.
That brings up a window that says I am running xp with service pack 3
It says my box has an AMD dual core 4000+ with 3 gigs of ram. If your frame rate is slow, it may be that your box lacks muscle, or has an obsolete vid card. We need specs to determine this.
Your specific complaint may have more to do with your drive condition. Double click “my computer”. Right click your c drive and select “properties”, how much free space is left ? Next click “tools” and select “defragment”. Expect a defrag session to take maybe an hour or so.
If the disk is all fragmented it is much like looking for a single blue straw in a barn full of colored straws and all mixed up. Finding the right files happens much faster when the drive has plenty of free space, and the files are organized by type.
