I’ve just returned form the funeral of a fellow South African entertainer, Colin Green.
He died in a car accident on his way back from a children’s party last Sunday.
At 58 Colin was very much an ‘old-school’ entertainer and I learnt a lot from him during gigs where we worked together.
Even tho Colin did not ride the unicycle, there is now one less of us
There are a lot of youngsters working as walk-around entertainers, buskers if you will.
A lot of them seem to think that they can entertain by their skills alone and forget about the fact that you have to connect with people on a personal level in order to truly entertain them.
That’s what I meant when I used the term ‘old-school entertainer’.
