I am needing to know about how fast does a coker go? I know it will be faster then my 20 in. but how far a would I expect to go in an hour? If i am just going to a few miles to school and work and whatnot would it be better to have a, dare I say it, bike?
To me, the answer is obvious. Sell the bike, buy the Coker. If you’re anything like me and are running a few minutes behind and you don’t have time to ride a unicycle, then why not drive? If it’s too far for a uni, it’s not worth the bike ride. Unicycle, yes… car, average… bike, well, bike is out of the question.

I go about 9KM/hour but then I am a slow rider and am in terrible shape.
Believe me, you have not had any fun in your life until you have
commuted to work/school on a unicycle. The recent four-month transit
strike did throw me for a loop but I have to say being “on top” for an
hour and a half each morning at 6:30 was an experience I would not throw
away. And, I did get a huge picture of myself in the newspaper one day,
so who am I to complain? I have never owned a Coker before and now I
would never be without one. Hilda and I get along just great

How dare you say bike?
Seriously, for a Coker you can expect about 1.5 to 1.8 times the speed
of your 20". Fast riders typically can hit or even exceed 20 mph, but
YMMV. For a commute of a few miles a bike would be marginally faster
than a Coker. But the fun factor is more than marginally different!

Looking WAY back, I’d say the bike would easly be twice as fast- but as has already been said, only fractionaly as fun. I’m not real happy about susstained speed above 14 mph, and I’d say 10 mph is a reasonable expectation for casual transport speeds in moderate traffic- but may entail a longer trip, as the direct rout is often not the safest. As your skill increases, your comfort level in different situations will increase; your ability to iddle at lights instead of dismounting and safely navigating metro traffic will cut your time as much as or more than ridding faster. How far do you have to go in how much time?

I reckon on 10mph average in heavy traffic for rides up to an hour or so. In
this traffic I’d probably only get 15mph average on a bike. If you’re only
going a few miles then get a coker, they aren’t that much slower than bikes.
Bear in mind if you’ve only got a 20" at the moment you’ll need a little
time to get used to the coker.
