How interesting! About 20 years ago, when I started unicycling in Japan,
there was a big wheel giraffe – I believe the wheel had 42" – built by a
bike shop in Osaka (Ogawa?) that subsequently built several 42" big
wheels. I rode that monster, which I think was around 8 feet tall – boy,
what a feeling! I have pictures somewhere…

Speaking of monsters, you might be interested in the 13-wheel unicycle
built by Hayashi in Nagoya – a true monstrosity! Here is a picture of me
riding it (very heavy) at a unicycle meet in Nagoya:

I guess 13 wheels must be the record for multiwheelers. I have a large
collection of multiwheeler pictures – I wish I had the time to digitize
them – maybe someone is willing to undertake the task. These include the
following number of wheels: , 0.5, 1, 1.5. 2, 2.5,3, 4, 5, 6, 7, 8, 13. I
have ridden them all. (The 2.5 is quite dangerous and not recommended.)

BTW, the 0, 0.5, 1.5 and 2.5 are not jokes.

I haven’t gotten around to making one yet…
