Coker spoke wrench and nipple size

Does anyone know which size of spoke wrench you need to fit the stock Coker spoke nipples? If so who makes tools to fit? I believe both Trek and Park make good spoke wrenches which grip on three sides of the nipple (but I don’t know which size it is I need to get!).

Any more info much appreciated…

Is that right? The gauge numbers I’ve seen for nipples are 80 and
105. Normal spoke gauges range from 13 to 16, but the nipple wrench
size usually depends on manufacturer rather than spoke size.

Tony, if you need a spoke wrench while you’re in Fort Collins, give me
a call. I’m in the phone book.

Actually I thought the Coker nipples were 12 gauge. Checking my records I measured it once at 3.95mm which is 0.1555" and 12 ga is 0.156" so I think that is it.

I use one of those multisized round spoke wrenches for the Coker spokes. Mine isn’t this exact one but it looks pretty much like it: http://www.unicycle.com/Shopping/shopexd.asp?id=432

I have the one pictured, and it works fine for the Coker spokes.

Tony,

Check out the local motorbike shops, they may have one. It is one of the more common sizes on scooters I believe.

Like Nathan, a 12 gauge fits my Coker nipples best and it’s also one of those multi-sized ones.
