Coker Inner Tubes

Has anyone suffered from punctures on Cokers, if so were they patchable. The
reason I ask is the lack of availability of inner tubes in the UK.

For a Polaris orienteering event one of the mandatory items of kit is an
inner tube.

To satify that I could take the lightest 700c tube I could find and intend not
to use it. This would be okay if we don’t get any nasty snake-bite
puntures/slits.

Another solution would be to drill an extra valve-hole in both Coker rims and
carry 2 halfords Easy-fit 16-20" tubes. These are straight line tubes designed
to be re-fitted to bike wheels without removing them from the frame/forks. (You
could even have a difference in pressures one side of the wheel to the other!).

If I could get hold of a Coker tube - how heavy are they ?

Re: Coker Inner Tubes

Looks like you’ll need extra long tyre levers to get 26" tubes over the coker
rims Leo- NOTE The event area is on forest tracks and fairly rough

Why not use foam filler and go back to solid tyres

I just happen to have a spare Coker tube. It seems to weigh about the same as a
glass of water - so I’d say aound 10-14 ounces.

UK importers South Hants Tyres told me they can supply inner tubes at 10 pounds

  • that’s cost not weight

too bad for a 36" with 110 cranks?

as a last resort it is an option - I think we will get an inner tube!

Cheers
