i just did it!!
as soon as you take the cap to a two liter of coke off, then you put in as many mentos as you can!!
then all the pop shots up into the air, it is so cool!!!
yeah I’ver done that it’s pretty awsome, how high did your go? mine went about 4 feet in the air
is that just normal mint mentos??
that is good but its better if you put the cap back on than throw it on the ground it goes like 20ft if you do it right
Poke a hole in the lid, find a mento that fits snugly into the top of the bottle, put the lid back on, hit the top of the bottle so that the mento falls to the bottom. Tah-dah! Instant super soaker!
PS go to www.eepybird.com lots of this there!
If you choose to make a “super soaker” with this, make certain that the hole is big enough otherwise pressure builds up and it will explode the bottle sending plastic shrapnel everywhere…it’s not fun
I used a test tube filled with mentos, about 10 of them, then put the tube on a notecard, then have it placed upsidedown over the opening of the 2 liter of pop, slide the paper out reall fast, having the mentos all fall in, and I got about 10 feet of pop.
I am going to try to make a bottle rocket using Mentos and Coke this week
Funny Websiter!!!
That is definitely the way to go. I just did this last week and got it to go up in the air about 30 feet.
So the 2 liter bottle goes up in the air???
Because the bottle is upside down and the coke is shootin out?
Or is the bottle upright and the stream of coke shooting up?
Does it work as well with Pepsi? Or Royal Crown Cola?
If you throw tha bottel down, will it shoot out sideways? Or however the bottle lands?
It works best with regular diet coke. Also the more mentos doesn’t necesarily mean the highest spout, its more about timing.
The boys did it in the backyard and made video clips. I’ll try to get them uploaded tomorrow
Okay, here they are. Ben and Brad and some friends played around in our backyard with Mentos and Diet Coke after I sent Ben the link to the video clip circulating the Internet. In the first clip, Ben holds the bottle then shortly tries to feed Brad some of the squirting pop. Even Baxter gets in on some of the treat.
A clip or two later, the boys try a different tact. Ben’s friend Will puts a Mentos in his mouth while Brad pours in the Diet Coke. They did all this before I got home from work. Man, I missed all the fun.
All boys in the video clips are unicyclists, by the way.

In the last clip, the boys try again with some Diet Dew. When it doesn’t work, Mary puts her foot down to protect the rest of her Dew stash. Real women of Dew know the real power of Dew, right Connie?
Dew doesn’t have a lot of carbonation so it’s not going to be as explosive as others.
I’m no chemistry professor but as I understand it, the reaction has to do with the roughness of the sugar particle. The rough surface gives a grabhold for the CO2 to use to pull itself from the solution. Salt in a carbonated beverage would work somewhat the same. That’s about the extent of my chemistry.
I used to use Rockets candies( you kno those little disks of pure sugar that come in a roll) and coke and its would have much the same effect.
You can also trow Dr. Pepper into a campfire.
But the way to make the biggest coke bombs I wont publish, as I don’t recommend the experiment to anyone out here.
please pm me on how to make the cokes bombs… please
