“It was funny to witness. Probably not so fun for the clown. Um, but as a spectator, it was pretty entertaining.”
Wow, violence is funny! I can certainly appreciate the surreal, almost slapstick-in-an-alternate-universe quality of clown vs. police officer. And I would love to capture something interesting on video and have it show on the news. I would even make a thread here if I encountered this video on the Internet. Fascinating to watch – kind of like rubbernecking at an accident scene.
But assault is funny? Sorry, not seeing it. He must be an aggressive driver. He has desensitized himself to violent, criminal behavior by engaging in it every day (just a speculation).
“Nobody was hurt.”
Are we sure about that? Does the cop have a concussion? Chipped tooth? Was he gouged by the clown (who perhaps has AIDS)? So funny.
I’m kind of relieved to see that the guy was not a “real” clown.
We all know what a real clown is, right?
Yes, I wouldn’t call it funny. Cop trying to do his job, guy wearing clown colors being a pain and apparently not following instructions. Cop risks injury while clown-guy gets what he was probably asking for.
Clown had a squirting daisy on his lapel, which started all the trouble.
Dave: Is this going to become the aggressive driving thread? Dave is the passive-aggrressive driver, who teams up with other drivers so they both take a lane at 35 MPH in a 65 MPH zone, so no one can pass. Or is that the passive driver?
If I had noticed the portrait orientation, I would have ranted about that abominable behavior instead. One must choose one’s battles carefully. One must always prioritize. One must stop saying one so much.
I don’t think the shooter had ABC News in mind when recording that. No video shot with my phone’s camera is ever intended to be on TV, or even shown full-screen on an old computer. Some subjects just happen to be in portrait orientation.
Not saying that I’ve never shot videos in portrait mode when I didn’t mean to, as far back as 2001, though…
No, not here. But maybe we are due for another round. Things have gotten worse in the intervening years.
No, Billy. I drive the speed limit. The problem is that I do it in northern New Jersey, where the average person on the street is mentally ill and is violent and aggressive. You have to experience it to believe it. But let’s not do this here. I have an idea for a new slant on this issue. Let me think about maybe starting a new thread.
So what were we talking about? Ah, yes. The funny assault on a law enforcement officer.
