i just bought and put together a new uni. everything works great except for a weird clicking noise. I hear it and feel it in the right pedal when it gets to the top of the revolution. i tightened it and the other pedal and nothing changed. it doesn’t do it from the start either; i have to be going for a minute or so, then it starts and doesn’t stop until i stop. it doesn’t change with speed. it just clicks like theres a broken part or something, but i can’t figure out what it is. is it a bad pedal?
could be a loose spoke, loose cranks, loose pedals, bad pedal bearings, bad bearings…if its the pedal it doesn’t really matter, it should stop creaking in a few days.(make absolutely certain everything is nice and tight*)
*spokes, eh, unless you really care about having a true wheel or will be riding serious trials the spokes should be fine til you find out what the problem is
it might be a good idea to learn how to tension and true your own wheel, spoke keys cost like 4 bucks…
The same thing’s happening to me. I got a new koxx hub, cranks and pedals and it clicks as well despite nothing being loose. Speculation is that my pedal bearings are spoilt.
If you ever find out why, I’m interested too.
try taking of the pedals and spinning the wheel. If it’s still clicking you’ll know it’s not the pedals so it’s proberly either the cranks or hub bearings!
