I’ll be vacationing in Clearwater the week of Aug 4 to 12.I would like to know if there is anyone there that would like to go out for a ride.
I will be sending down my 29er by UPS instead of dealing with the airline.I mostly ride distance but am willing to learn new stuff.

I won’t be down there at that time: I’m generally only down there in the winter. There is a bike trail that goes from Clearwater up to Tarpon Springs - should be fun for you to ride. If you are not familiar with it, you should drop in at Chainwheel Drive, bike shop in Clearwater, they’ll give you a map.
I recommend that you try riding on Clearwater Beach. Beautiful causeway riding and 2 nice bridges to cross – the Memorial Causeway that connects Clearwater with Clearwater Beach and the Clearwater Pass that connects Clearwater Beach with Sand Key.
You could also ride along the beach in St. Petersburg.
I live in LA and I’m going the weekend before – Aug. 1 and I have easily travelled at least 20 times just checking my KH24 right with the bag checkers.
I have never shipped my uni. I check it wherever I travel and ride whichever city I arrive in. It is a great way to sight see and exercise at the same time.

I was thinking about checking also but I’m afraid of my wheel being damaged.
Do you have a bag that you put yours in that protects the wheel?

if you have a steel frame and cranks, it is indestructbable
I have flown with it on Delta, United, Southwest, Alaska, American and Northwest.
