Lately i have been getting interested in classical music (mostly Beethoven) and I must say, I really like it. Its a good break from my usual rock and screamo, its very relaxing too. My favorite classical song right now is Moonlight Sonata by Beethoven. Does anybody else like classical?
Check this out. The whole thing is good, but the part I’m thinking about is around 2:00, I think.
Wow that was amazing, I loved the part when he started playing moonligh sonota. The whole video was still awesome though…I wish i could download the audio.
That’s mostly what I listen to. Bach to Gershwin and just about everything in between. Music that will live forever!
About half of my CDs are classical.
I like the big orchestra pieces mostly and mostly composers from the Romantic and 20th Century periods. Shostacovich’s symphonies are some of my favorites.
Pieces like Moonlight Sonata are the boring stuff.
try it on FFR. It’s pretty easy
I got a 60 CD collection of classical, but tbh though most of it I like. It’s moderated listening for me, because I can’t do to much of it at once
the classical i listen to is mostly Beethoven, Chopin, Mozart, and Tchaikovsky. good stuff
The quote in your sig (It’s time to kick ass and chew bubblegum. And I’m all outta gum. -Duke Nukem) is from the movie, “they live” starring roddy piper. Cool cult flick.
duke uses that line too
YEah I know, that’s where they got it…er, stole it from! The original movie came out in 1988, waaay before duke.
I dig classical music. I’m really into more avant-garde stuff though. Oliver Messiaen, Philip Glass and Igor Stravinsky are some of my favorites.
Last composer is great. Firebird, petrushka, rite of spring; all amazing and ahead of their time…at the time.
I actually like almost all the pieces we play in orchestra…I’m not very cultured in the sense that I know much about the composers, though. I just like the pieces.
One that stands out now is (prepare for butchered spelling): Ungarische Tanze, by Brahms (I think that’s what it is). I loooove that piece. One of the other pieces we’re playing right now is Light Calvary by Von Suppe. That’s cool too.
I wish I could remember the stuff we’ve played.
I love classical also I have about 20 hours worth on my i-pod it is what I listen to when juggling and basiclly everything else. I also have become dependant on it to fall asleep other wise I can’t sleep which sucks when my i-pod battery dies. I like bach , beethoven and just about everything else. I would say my favorite piece is violin concerto no. 1 in g minor , Op. 26 vorspiel allegro
Ive been into classical music since I was about 7.
I love it, from the medieval period all the way to 20th century and contemporary that is being composed today.
Here’s a good list for a basic classical music repertoire. There’s also lots of other good info on that site.
Probably doesn’t deserve a new thread due to the little response that I’m expecting to receive, so I’ll post it here.
Does anyone here compose classical music? I’ve been getting into classical music composition, it’s quite a challenge and it makes me appreciate classical music so much more.
Not waaay before duke, only 3 years prior.
I try to compose, but I usually fail.
I have been playing trombone for 3.5 years now… (wow that went fast).
